Sujetos is the result of the first exploration using archive material. Analyzing medical bibliography of the 60’s, led to understanding that images were used to register the physical characteristics of an individual, leaving behind the notion of a subject being portrayed and replacing it with the conception of an object being studied. Nevertheless, these images do not stop being portraits, meaning that even if in this archive subjects are being objectified, the typical characteristics of a portrait picture are still visible. The intention behind decontextualizing and up-scaling the selected fragments is to highlight the portrait aspects in them and to distance the subject from a clinical setting.
