FAMILIA
VIVAS

2019

Familia Vivas is an exhibition project that seeks to highlight the fictitious characteristics of the family album. Like this document or record of family life, it is a constantly altered narrative depicting an idealized version of a family unit.

Through the compilation of family photographs acquired in a commercial way, a family album is made where the images do not share the same origin. Through the organization of photographic records, it is sought to generate a linear narrative that gives the sensation of the passage and temporal development of a fictitious family unit generated by the unconscious association of images.

The family album created is accompanied by a device in the public space where the exhibition is held. A corner located in a park in the Armenia neighborhood of the city of Bogotá, where it is intended to recreate the private ritual of seeing a family album by making it public, by opening the corner to any passerby.
